My education and qualifications are:
Living in our community for 30 years while raising two children together with my wife Kimmerly, I understand the challenges from climate change such as drought. As Director and former President of the Oro Loma Sanitary District Board, I am committed to continue tackling these challenges. My 30-year career as a water civil engineer and water resources advisor for our community combined with my Stanford University education provides invaluable experience and ability to empower our community to overcome our challenges. I will continue to: 1) save money for ratepayers by embracing innovation; 2) champion high-quality drinking water for people by using recycled water for public landscaping and industry; 3) improve paper, plastic and glass recycling; 4) prioritize programs that teach children to preserve our environment. During my two terms on the Oro Loma Sanitary District Board, I tackled sea level rise and greenhouse gas reduction projects; championed recycled water initiatives & shoreline cleanups; collaboratively led the effort from the initial board vote through the formation of district-based elections, saving ratepayers hundreds of thousands of dollars; and pushed to completion our first staff training/community education room.
